Spidey, Thor, Deadpool, and more in today’s geek news.


Sony has postponed the production of Spider-Man 4, due to a disagreement between the director, Sam Raimi, and the studio over which villain(s) should be used. (via Variety)

Thor has had a change in its release, it has been moved up to May 6, 2011, the weekend that Spidey 4 may now abondon. (via Superhero Hype)

And then in turn, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides has taken Thor release date of May 20, 2011. (via Slashfilm)

Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the writer’s of Zombieland, have been hired by 20th Century Fox to write the Deadpool movie.  (via Variety)

Warner Bros. has made a deal with Netflix, that only allow the new DVD releases from Warner Bros. to appear on Netflix only 28 days after their release. (via The Los Angeles Times)


Dr. Pepper has teamed with EA to give away free Downloadable Content with every specially marked bottle. The promotion starts this Spring. (via The Big Download)


The Slate, HP’s Windows 7 based tablet PC, was announced at Steve Ballmer’s opening keynote at CES today. (via Gizmodo)
