Cannibal in Thor, Ouija Board: The Movie, bartender running Disney Animation, and more in today’s geek news.


Anthony Hopkins, best known as Hannibal Lector in Silence of the Lambs, has been cast as Odin in Thor. (via Variety)

Mark Millar announced on his forums that he is going to direct a superhero film. The film will probably be based on an original idea of Millar’s.

Etan Cohen, writer of Tropic Thunder, has been hired to write the third Men in Black film. (via Variety)

Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, writers of the upcoming Tron Legacy, have been hired by Universal to write a movie based on the Ouija Board.(via The Hollywood Reporter)


The Hollywood Reporter is reporting the the new ninth season of Scrubs will premiere on December 1.

NBC has ordered 6 more episodes of Chuck, bringing season 3 up to 19 episodes total that are expected to start airing in March. (via Variety)

So apparently DVRs help ratings for TV shows, who would have guessed that. (via The New York Times)

Kevin Gamble, best known as the Bartender Johnny Johnny on TikiBar TV, has become  the VP of developement of Disney Television Animation. (via Variety)
