Lauren Shuler Donner, producer on the X-Men films, recently gave an update about on the future X-Men films to Empire. She revealed that the Wolverine sequel will definitely be set in Japan, following the classic Chris Claremont and Frank Miller story, and that they wanted to use that story for the first one but Tom Rothman, head of 20th Century Fox, didn’t want to. She said that X-Men: First Class will use the Harry Potter films as “role model” and will “not be a kiddie movie.” Regarding the Deadpool movie, she said, “I want to ignore the version of Deadpool that we saw in Wolverine and just start over again. Reboot it. Because this guy talks, obviously, and to muzzle him would be insane.” And finally she reveled that she is not sure Magneto will ever be made.
