X-Men, no Hulk in Iron Man, Lantern casting, and Warner Bros. is going to lose Superman in today’s geek news.

Tim Pocock, who played young Cyclops in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, revealed on his twitter account that X-Men: First Class will begin filming sometime after February 2010.

Back in July, I reported on the rumor that Edward Norton had a cameo in Iron Man 2. Now Edward Norton told MTV Splash Page, that he will not be in Iron Man 2 to his knowledge at least.

Spoiler TV has gotten a hold of casting calls for Carol Ferris, Hector Hammond, Sinestro, and Abin Sur for the upcoming Green Lantern film. The notices follow:

[CAROL FERRIS]
26-32, a smart and attractive woman with an MBA. She started as a pilot and now runs Ferris Aircraft. She is a work-a-holic…FEMALE LEAD

[DR. HECTOR HAMMOND]
27-35, Character actor who is austere and impersonal, he is real “scummy.” He is a pathologist and also the son of a Senator.

[SINESTRO]
Mid-30s to Mid-40s, he is smart, tough, intimidating and in great physical shape.

[ABIN SUR]
Mid-30s to mid-40s, he is a great warrior.

For those of you that hoped that the formation of DC Entertainment would mean that Warner Bros. would be getting their act together with their superhero franchises, think again. MTV Splash Page talked with DC Entertainment president, Diane Nelson, about the futre of the Superman movie franchise and she said “We actually don’t have any current plans for Superman.” Maybe they should get on that, considering that they lose the rights to the character if a film is not in production by 2011.
