Conan has a new director, Dollhouse Season 2, Guillermo Del Toro says Hellboy 3 might not happen and confirms who’s returning in The Hobbit, plus is Doc Ock returning? All that and more in today’s geek news.


Joss Whedon revealed to Entertainment Weekly that he was contacted about being involved with the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot but has turned them down.

Guillermo Del Toro spoke with the BBC recently and revealed quite a few things:  (via Slashfilm)

  • Hellboy 3 is probably not going to happen as Ron Perlman he does not want to wear prosthetics anymore
  • He is only producing Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
  • He is directing Frankenstein with Doug Jones as the monster
  • Andy Serkis, Ian McKellen, and Hugo Weaving will all return in the Hobbit movie as their characters from the Lord of the Rings trilogy

Alfred Molina told MTV News that he would like to return as Doc Ock in another Spider-Man film.

The Conan the Barbarian reboot has a new director in Marcus Nispel, who also did the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake and the Friday the Thirteenth Reboot. (via Variety)
